Raúl González Blanco mantiene una gran relación con Pep Guardiola. Tanto es así que el mito del madridismo visitó a su amigo en la última visita a Alemania del Barça a Leverkusen y, en cambio, no se pasó por el hotel de concentración del Real Madrid en su reciente visita a Múnich. El delantero del Schalke 04, a punto de despedirse de Alemania, estuvo en Madrid y dio una rueda de prensa en la que habló del futuro de Pep. “El fútbol necesita a Guardiola y él tomará la mejor decisión”, dijo.

Raúl habló de las semifinales de Champions. Del Barça dijo que “los mejores no siempre ganan y ese es un aliciente de este deporte. Aunque el Chelsea hizo méritos para ir a la final, futbolísticamente hubo un ganador y no estará en Múnich”. Del Madrid-Bayern Raúl señaló que fue “una eliminatoria más equilibrada”
